Platts-ICE Forward Curve – Electricity is a comprehensive and independent
view of forward pricing in the North American electricity market. It provides
the marketplace with a complete and independently-derived set of curves tailored
to meet the growing risk-management needs of the trading community.
The Platts-ICE Forward Curve – Electricity includes daily on-peak
and off-peak assessments at 17 key electricity trading hubs and extends out
four years. It also includes daily market commentary on the forward markets.
The product combines the data-gathering power and expertise of both Platts
and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Platts gathers information on the forward market through the non-commercial
departments of companies, from discussions with traders and brokers active in
the market, and then incorporates electricity forward trading activity from
ICE, including transactions and bids and offers.
Platts experts co-mingle the data under established methodologies to formulate
the daily assessments.
